Papers, 1942-1945.

Papers comprised chiefly of letters Howard Lewis sent to his fiancee, and later his wife while he was in the service during the Second World War. The content of the letters concern mostly personal and family matters, but also provide many good insights into his experiences of military life. These letters were written at various domestic military bases and from the field in North Africa and Italy. Wedding portraits and photographs related to Lewis's military service are also included.
